We have recently enjoyed a three week tour of Eastern Newfoundland. There's no question that the highlight was our tour with Carl Slaney. We knew some of the history of the area but Carl brought it all to life with his stories. His research has been so deep and thorough and his presentation is personal as he refers to experiences of people who have been his neighbours and family. Our three hours together only enticed me to return some day to hear more. Make time to seek out Carl and enjoy day in St Lawrence!

Carl Slaney is a natural born story teller. We learned so much on two tours with Carl, one about the history of the Truxton and Pollux disaster and another about the history of the tidal wave that struck the Burin Peninsula. Not only did we gain an education on these tragic events but we left inspired by the stories of heroism and determination of the people of St. Lawrence. What is also inspirational is Carls passion for his community and his efforts to share this important local knowledge with all wholl take the time to listen. Do yourself a favour, take a tour with Carl Slaney. Service: Group tours

Carl gave our motley crew of six adults and three kids a really wonderful tour yesterday. The 1942 shipwreck is a fascinating and multilayered story and Carl knew all the nuances/politics/heartaches behind it. He was kind and personable. The location on the coast is breathtaking too. I would highly recommend this tour with Carl. One of the best things we did in the Burin peninsula! Services: Group tours, Private tours

Absolutely loved our Laurentian Legacy tour led by Carl Slaney. So very informative, well paced, and lots of time to ask questions about the area and the events that had taken place. We enjoyed to stories and history shared by Carl and the day we did our tour was a misty, dreary day which made the history that Carl shared with us that much more real and made us feel as though we were right there experiencing it all on that very day. Brilliant tour and we can't wait to go back and do it all over again. If you are looking for a beautiful hike, stunning scenery, stories and history of the St. Lawrence area.....this is the tour for you. We would highly recommend this tour. Carl is simply the best tour guide, bar none!!!! Service: Private tours
