Momentum Counselling

I've had the pleasure of dealing with Momentum Walk-In Counselling in many ways over the past years. The entire team is absolutely amazing and they are some of the nicest people I have met with nothing but the best intentions. Their variety of services serve the community very well and I would recommend this service to anyone in the community of Edmonton who may need affordable or walk-in couselling services.

Absolutely wonderful people, I cant recommend them enough! I typically do not comment on someone's elses review but I really feel the need to regarding the review KIRK OPHEIM posted. In response to his review: I have personally experienced the utmost professionalism from Momentum and they have helped me tremendously. I have referred people to them as well and they have had extremely positive outcomes. The programs and methods are made very clear in both the paperwork and conversations. I feel it is concerning that you, a Social Worker would expect trauma informed care from one session, as that is actually rather impossible. Further, to say a place that has helped so many people should be shut down due to your isolated one time experience is incredibly extra on your part and actually concerning considering your profession. I'm not sure if a closed mind and poor attitude is behind your need for professional counselling but I do encourage you to seek help in that regard. I'm sorry you are upset but your review is incredibly self-serving and actually harmful towards anyone seeking informative insight. Perhaps a more reasonable, responsible approach would be to bring your concerns to the clinic instead of making an over the top, highly aggressive review regarding a one time visit where you were expecting something unattainable in one session.

Hello all. I want to warn people about this very unprofessional, incompetent organization. I had a counselling session with the person who is the clinical director of Momentum. This was the most incompetent organization I have ever encountered and I am a social worker myself. They began the session by saying that there would be another person in the room listening to the session without communicating that this would occur before the session. I could explain more but I am choosing not to. This is not trauma-informed care in any way and I really caution anyone who is hurting emotionally to avoid Momentum Counselling. I am worried for others who will experience their patent disrespect to the helping process. This organization will be doing more harm to people than good and therefore should be closed permanently.

This place has been a life saver literally, they help you with the amount of money you can afford at the time and all the counsellors and staff have the warmest of hearts. Ive been to a few places in Edmonton and this place is the best! I highly recommend it, and thank you Momentum for your outstanding help.
