The staff and nurses were amazing to us all in the end of life care for my mother. They went above and beyond. The Hospice house was very clean, quiet and felt like a home away from home. The family was very appreciative of the support during this delicate time. They truly care and it shows. They are welcoming and will try to accommodate your needs while there. They didn't have a time limit for visitors. The food is like home cooked meals for the patients and family was allowed to eat as well. They encouage you are fed while staying with your loved one. I am grateful for their compassion and education through the whole process. Thank you Hospice house for being respectful and considerate in time of need. We see your hard work and dedication to making the whole transition peaceful. From the bottom of my families heart THANK YOU!!!

Can not give one star. Disgusting. The hospital said they would keep my dad on the catheter but was ripped out of him and a diaper put on immediately and he had extremely rapid decline unable to speak a word until he had the last sudden burst of energy (normal before dying) and the staff was inappropriate in acknowledging his wishes. He wanted to stand up and get out of bed and they held him down and three times he repeated "let me go". they then proceeded to have a discussion absolutely inappropriately about him rather than explain sweetly and quietly to him that its better not to or even better to have assisted him (discussed loudly at that time) that not possible due to wcb., they continued to hold him down, his last wish was to not be held down, I as his daughter lent down and said "what did you say dad" and i repeated this to the staff, saying and validating what he said, so it was heard and instead of speaking with him started some ridiculous argument and threw everyone out of the room. Hey I understand he could not have stood on his own, but just not right. We could have helped him stand. His last words and wish when he left the hospital he was completely coherent and good. I think they ripped everything off him and put a diaper on him and he did not speak any word except for the "let me go". They do not care. After he passed the one nurse put her hand on his head implying love and care. I think they totally overdrugged him absolutely and then lied about it. It is not a nice place. Just after my dad passed they were sitting next to the reception all eating and laughing.

My mother was admitted into this Hospice under pain management. Her circumstances changed and we were here for 14 days. During this time I witnessed the LACK of staff - LACK of training and LACK of compassion that this PLATINUM level CHARITY offers. They have my number and all of my contact information. All I have been sent is a bill for HORRIBLE services. (the bill has also been charged to MY personal credit card. I wish this to be resolved. I am NOT happy with the services received and if your "charity" can call my mother a guest - I wish the bill to be resolved. Every 3 days the staff would change over and during that time the new staff would come into our room where we were "guests" and ask inappropriate questions to myself, my husband and our family friends. Other than LIMITED staff members whose names I have - at no point did I feel we could leave my mother there alone. We were doing 24 hr care until the end. When we were not there she was not fed. She was not getting help with drinks etc because staff CHANGE OVER was not updated each time on her NEEDS and NO one sets an expectation on what they will do there to help - other than let family members CRUMBLE while the staff stands and watches ( this actually happened while 5 members of the HEALTH COMMUNITY watched my struggle to get my mother comfortable before she was told she would NEVER be leaving - HEARTLESSLY - by Dr. Hillhouse. This "compassionate care" facility has caused us EXTREME trauma. We were denied support from NORTHERN health as well as this Hospice in terms of grief, loss ETC. Our treatment from DOCTORS, NURSES and CAREAIDS was so traumatic we had to request WITNESSES while speaking with a doctors and then were told this is NORMAL. My mothers was treated like spoiled meat. This has all been so unbelievable to myself and family. When I asked the head nurse there she advised me that this is NORMAL treatment. She said they are OVER worked and have a lot of GUESTS. I want EVERYONE to know what THEY say is NORMAL - so you can decide if you want to be a part of it. We were given NO choice. When DR. MANN LIED to have us ADMITTED here we were also advised the cost would be covered by my mothers EXTENSIVE benefits. We were also advised on a cost per day should we choose to eat there. We have dietary needs we advised everyone of DAILY but it was rarely acknowledged. Other than drinks we really didn't EAT there - however we have received bills for both DRUGS (drugs we did not APPROVE of as we were DENIED power of attorney) and the apparent 'resort" fees. Do not send your family members here if you love them. I wish I had known as I love my mother very much.
