I was so happy with the care that I received when I went to Dauphin Regional Hospital today. I can honestly say that everyone is very caring and willing to help anyone. They are not there just for the money

Dr. Penrose was very rude and not helpful at all. NOT RECOMMENDED. He did not help me whatsoever. This " Doctor" didnt ask how I was doing or a simple hello. He straight up told me to not to call the ambulance for a "common cold" when he seen me. I was having problems breathing and was not keeping food, water or my cough medicine down. I had cold sweats, a hard time sleeping, high fever, nausea and a dry cough. This was not covid but it was very hard for me to breathe which is why I went in in the first place. "Doctor" got me an inhaler(which didnt help anything) He checked my one ear and told me to keep taking cough medicine. I asked what I do if I can't keep it down and he walked away on me. The only help I got was in the ambulance by the Paramedics where they had to give me a shot of gravol in my arm to help me calm down my body and to help me sleep. Following this I told one of the nurses he was very rude to me, she responded "Oh" so I asked for a different doctor and was told he was the only morning doctor there. After this a different nurse asked me to leave so they could clean the room for someone else. 1/10 experience. God BLESS the Paramedics that helped me sleep when I couldn't for days even when it was only a few hours.

One of the worst hospital's in Canada. I'm constantly hearing of my Metis and Aboriginal elders being mistreated and their health concerns not being treated fairly. Even the most respected elders of the community, being ignored and having to wait upwards of six hours for any care even with chest pain and difficulty breathing. It's a sad reality of the healthcare system. It won't go unpunished.

The wait times to see a Doctor in the emergency department are extremely long. The reason for our visit is for an EMERGENCY. A person can die before being seen by a physician. The very minimal amount of time you MUST wait is an outrageous 45 minutes.
