Says that they're open at 7. Was there at 07:10 and doors were locked. Poorly managed.

Just not helpful at all, any question I had i was told came back speak with manager becouse i don't know, i can't help you. At least act like you want to help and not push ,e away right away. Done trying to get my items over a month and no one has contacted me. Your store is liable fur losing my items

I've been in a few times and received lacklustre service. (You may remember me as the gori bhabhi asking if it was possible to directly order in Shan brand nihari boxed spice; at that time, I was passed off to the owner's wife for further discussion.) All in all, this store is not my favourite place to go for any items, but... I was in on Saturday again, not thinking much of past experiences. In accordance with federal by-laws and store signs, I put on my mask and peeked in to make sure we (my children and I) were not violating the store limit of 5 occupants. One other customer was also in the store. I was only stopping by to purchase cigarettes and upon entering, waited at the till for what would become an uncomfortably long amount of time. The male store attendant was not wearing a mask regardless of customer presence (does bunching it under the chin as storage really count in the time of horrific by-law enforcement?) and appeared preoccupied farther down in the store on a laptop and telephone. The attendant was aware of my presence at the till and continued to work elsewhere in the store. I was not given a courtesy acknowledgement (ie, "one moment, please" to pause his task) and continued to be casually ignored while standing at the till. When the male attendant did approach the till, he was still speaking softly into the phone and would continue to do so for some time. Again, I was surprised to not receive a courtesy hand gesture from him (again, "one moment, please" to end the call) while engaging on the telephone in front of me. At this point, I am deeply uncomfortable standing in the store. The attendant ends the call and SHOUTS at me: "WHAT YOU WANT". The debit machine for payment was subsequently shoved in my direction. There are several other Desi-owned operations who are friendly and polite towards their patrons. Is it too much to ask for this store to engage in behaviours that will not subsequently alienate the local population too?

Great place to visit for Indian grocery in Portage. Friendly owner and great guy.
