BEWARE OF SUMMERLAND APARTMENTS!!!!! Absolute worst staff I have ever encountered. Incredibly disrespectful and rude! Dang near impossible to find anyone in management that will deal with issues properly OR take tenants seriously. The place is INFESTED WITH BEDBUGS and they do not notify any tenants. Save yourself the headache.

Very disgusting service in terms of cleaning at one of their property (summerland apartments) we recently had refridgerator issue and i had to call them for 4 weeks to get it fixed or replaced and they took 2 months to fix it and when we received our fridge back, it was having fungus in it and molds all around and when asked to get it cleaned, they denied and asked us to clean it. Worst customer service and poor respect towards the tenants. The manager passed a racist comments and judges the tenants based on their color and race. What a joke, ppl dont eat in ramadan or what. Its a disrespect to whole community. Here is the proof of the fridge we got it back. Please do go for this apartment if you want to pay $1317/month.

I read all the bad reviews and from my own experience I think all of them are absolutely true, at this point if you read the reviews and still choose to move in here then I would call you the opposite of Intelligent. Replying to bad reviews with words like "thank you for bringing your concern blablabla please call blablabla, the management never notice people's concerns that clearly already stated in their bad reviews. such a lame way to reply Super Hot during the winter, super hot during the summer. My room temperature stays at 30 during winter, heat stays on till almost may. Such a waste of Energy, one canadian value I learnt, as a immigrant. Front office staff are pretty rude, at the same time has a sign that says rude people not welcome, another Canadian value I learnt. Elevator super slow will be an issue if you live high up. Front entrance takes long time to unlock everytime you enter the building, management think this is normal. random people parked on my parking spot, called management they dont care, so I had to park on other place and face the risk of being towed. Laundry Downstairs are pretty expensive, 2.75 per medium load. Been dealing with management a lot for problems here and there, but they're like Justin T in parliament. Regret moving in this building, definitely can find better place for this price.

Try not to rent apartment facing Atriums. They are very very hot and humid and the circulation is not proper. The management does not seem to care about the AC situation. When I called the office, they told me to buy a AC unit to cool the apartment (we pay for AC in rent). I had to recently buy 2 portable AC - 1 for bedroom, 1 for living area - which costed me total for about $600. In winter months which is majority of the year, AC's are turned off and it gets very very warm inside. During summer months even they turn on the AC, it doesn't work well and it gets very very warm. The apartment unit also has very less storage compare to other apartments in the area. When we were touring the apartment at the time of our search, the old lady just pointed to the Ac and mentioned that it works. After we moved in it never did. The apartment building also has a lot of bugs and cockroach problems as we are in the process of pest control currently for cockroaches, and mind well we just moved in about 8 months ago.

Update (Still 1 star, would be 0 if it was an option): If the management had taken tenant concerns seriously over the past few years, I wouldn't have had to post a negative Google review. So no, I'm not contacting the staff, for the umpeenth time, just to have nothing truly resolved. As other people have said, there are issues with poor AC in Atrium-facing units and issues with bedbugs. Nothing new or changed there in years. Graffiti season is back, as some people facing the garage roof have seen. Cosmetic changes like hallway flooring, but old wiring and windows remain. Decrepit building with many newer and/or better options to rent all around it. Don't move here. That's the only solution. Original: + Some good staff and neighbours. Unit okay storage, ceiling height. Near U of M, stores, bus. - Noisy. Metal windows ice shut. Gross smells because building lacks good ventilation. Leaks. Graffiti, bike theft, vandalism issues. Garage door often broken. Office and on-call staff don't seem to care or reply.
