Mediation Services

I was the victim in a fraud case that was diverted to mediation services. Everything went well for the first while and then my case worker went on leave. It was that moment that things took a turn for the worse. The moment the new worker took over the file everything fell apart and I did not get a penny more given back to me in restitution. I requested to change workers (actually begged them), but my request was denied. The new case worker could not perform his job at all and now it got referred back to courts. To add further insult to this, I was given zero guidance by the case worker on what comes next and what to do other than to "file a small claim" - my claim exceeds the threshold for a small claim (thanks for the great advice). I feel victimized twice. I am probably in a worse position now, as I have been told that because some of the money was paid back (even though it was a small amount), that it may be thrown out by the judge and the remainder may be forgiven. I should have never given in to this suggestion to divert the case to mediation services.

I've now taken multiple courses through Mediation services, and all of them have been facilitated well, and have provided a safe space to discuss some difficult topics. I've experienced phenomenal instructors who care about you not only as a participant but as a professional; and have gone out of their way to help you succeed. I would recommend these courses as a journey to a certificate through them or individually as they are offered. The investment is worth it!
