Yan Yan Chinese Food Restaurant

First time ordering and it was great! It arrived quickly and hot! It tasted very good. I will for sure be ordering again!

06May2023. We havent been to Yan Yans for awhile. I think there are new owners? The gentleman how took the order was very nice. When I arrived to pickup order the two people working at the front were very nice and the gal working was her first day. The food was exceptionally good and the flavour was outstanding. The portions were large and we had lots of leftovers which we really like. We will definitely go back again.

Id like to start off by saying that I feel like this is an anomaly. Ive gotten food before and it has been pretty good! But for some reason today, the spring rolls filling tasted off, to the point where I couldnt eat them even with sauce. The fried rice and chicken balls werent burnt, but tasted charred, edible but not enjoyable. The mixed vegetables as always were amazing though. Like I said Im hoping this is just a one off and it will be good next time, but pretty disappointed with it today.

We ordered last night, but this was not the Yan Yan food we were used to...We ordered our normal choices, but were astonished how terrible it tasted. Our order of Deluxe Chop Suey was covered in coarse black spots (pepper?), yet it has never had this before. The mixed vegetables were tasteless ( the sauce was thin and without any spice) and the rice was overcooked paste. At least the lemon chicken was still good. This is the only reason I give it two stars. Next time we will head down the road to their competition... it was that bad! I do want to clarify that I have been a customer for as long as it has been open and before that the Ho Inn which was its predecessor. I know their food, and have seen the chsnges when ownership changed... but it was always good to great. But last night's fare was so disappointing that I will not give them another chance to disappoint me.
