Rice was very dry and had to phone and to phone and ask where my honey garlic sauce was. Food has no flavor, honey garlic sauce no flavor or smell to it, 3rd time trying. Very dissatisfied, not again. I'll stick to what's near me for now on and won't have to waste gas!

I know the Empress, because I've been eating here for about 10 years. The place never really changes, and while some may like the continuity involved, it's really starting to get old. Still the same old ten choices on the steam table -- consomme or hot and sour soup, rice, noodles, vegetables, a stir fry with onions, mushrooms and carrot, one with green beans, fried chicken, ginger beef, spring rolls...it never changes. I wish Chinese restaurants in Winnipeg would learn to change it up a little instead of serving the same old stuff. The Empress is great, but getting stodgy. The only thing that does change is the price: now $19 per diner.
