Roman Scapes Landscaping

Unfortunately our experience with Roman Scapes (summer 2021) ended with disappointment. Paul knew our knowledge of landscaping was limited prior to us hiring him. Our landscaping project was professionally designed, but once Paul's version of it was finished it was evident he cut corners and the quality of work, especially in our backyard, was subpar. After watering our sod we soon noticed standing water and dying plants, and this was despite very dry conditions. Water now constantly pools in two different areas in our backyard; it sits stagnant, doesn't drain! When shown this, Paul neglected to focus on solutions for us and instead quickly blamed it on the neighbouring property. Weeks before landscaping began we emailed him to point out that property's higher grade, to ensure he was well aware and could account for it, to avoid having it adversely impact our yard/drainage. In an earlier instance we voiced concerns to Paul about unleveled ground in our backyard - stressing it seemed more grading or leveling to smooth it out was necessary before our sod went in. Paul assured us he was well versed in his trade, but this proved otherwise as the majority of our yard is uneven/bumpy, almost hazardous in spots. Seems it was never properly finished, even after we requested it. We didn't find he had our best interest in mind as customers; he lacked attention to detail, deflected our concerns and failed to take ownership of unsatisfactory work. This has cost us time and money. For these reasons we do not recommend Roman Scapes.

Wow!!! Roman Scapes Landscaping did our deck for us and we were blown away by the service and workmanship that was provided to us by them. The estimate was both detailed and the responsiveness to our questions was incredibly thorough. The work crew was very polite and professional and did a great job of building us a sturdy and beautifully designed deck. I have recommended to Roman Scapes to my family, friends, and colleagues because I trust that they will get the best value, service , and workmanship.

Great company to work with. Dealing with the company, from the very friendly estimator at the beginning to the owner Paul during construction was an absolute pleasure. Quality of work is second to none. Highly recommend this company.
