PACE is directed mainly toward international students, so if you are a domestic student, you'll spend hours and hours learning things you already know from primary to high school, like diversity & inclusion, basic communication skills, and overall Canadian cultural behaviour. I took Supply Chain Management, so I thought this course would be more geared towards skills employers want to see, such as procuring and/or scheduling logistics from the first step to the last step and what that looks like on a technological and organizational level. It would have been extremely beneficial to learn necessary industry skills such as Excel, like the use of pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc. while learning how to analyze inventory data and present it in a way that makes sense. I wish I could have learned more relevant industry-related content. As a domestic student, I felt like a lot of my time and money was wasted, and I feel like I didn't learn nearly as much as I wanted, nor do I feel confident looking for work in my field. Overall I know PACE means well, and this program is a great choice if you are an international student with lots of experience in your field and want to know more about Canadian organizational behaviours and cultures to help you succeed in the workplace.
