Make sure you have either change, debit card or credit card with you "before" going to the pay station. Went to Manitoba Clinic to have blood work done. I found paring and went inside. I was waiting in line for my turn at the pay station as there were a few people ahead of me. When I finally got there I realized I didn't have change or my debit card with so I immediately left. When I got back to my vehicle I had been issued a $90 ticket for not not having a paid parking ticket and I was gone maybe what 7 mins. I called the number on the ticket and explained to them had what happened. All they would do is reduce the fine to $68.75. They're reasoning was I had used the parking spot...again I explained what what happened and they didn't care. Talk about taking advantage of people and being con artist. My advice, is if this should happen to you, go back in buy a ticket...this way you can PROVE you had paid and not get a huge fine.
