Giving this 2 stars purely because the service was goodI got French toast, eggs & bacon, all of which came out cold. I ordered medium hard eggs. They were so runny the yolk was cold. There was a bug in my drink as well. Server was nice though. Someone train the kitchen staff.

Its extremely rare I leave a negative review, but we were so disappointed with our experience today. It should be noted it does not reflect our server at all - she was lovely. Our order included very few requests - eggs done over-easy (part of ordering eggs) and crispy bacon. When food was served, my sons pancake wasnt fully cooked- still sticky batter inside. Bacon was extremely undercooked, and eggs were not runny- actually hard boiled on the bottom. Both orders of hash browns were over-salted to the point of not being eaten. Requested a new pancake but left the rest as-is. New pancake was brought and was much better. When server came, she looked at the piles of hash browns left and the mostly uneaten bacon but didnt ask. When she brought our bill, she looked at it and said Ill be right back and went back to manager. Overheard manager saying well they still GOT a pancake so they have to pay for it and the server came back looking rather sheepish, and apologized again for the uncooked pancake. When orders have been mis-handled (especially something as clearly obvious as not at all cooked) Ive always received some sort of compensation on my bill. Ive also never been served food at any reasonable restaurant and not been asked how was your food today?, or when something like undercooked food or something wrong with order, usually a manager or someone comes over to check in on the fix. They had over a dozen servers and what appeared to be two managers on, so it wasnt a matter of short staff. Just came across as a complete lack of customer service Stellas has been on our short-list of favourites for a long time, but Im not sure well ever be back after such an experience.

Went last week for this review here: When they are busy the employees are like chickens with there heads cut off. You need to Hire more people for your busy days.. so people arent waiting hour and half for breakfast. Lol huge building wrongly set up. This is an update to review from today interaction of giving them another chance. 745-807 am may 15th. Were 1 of 5 tables at the restaurant. 17$ for a meal that cost 3$ and 4$ of labor time at the most. What we paying 17 for? It took 4-8 mins for the meals to arrive. So doesnt take long at all. The guacamole is brown cause its made in a large batch without anything to stop the browning. Make it fresh if your breakfast takes 4-8 mins to cook. This overly sized place and your heat and ac? Why you passing all costs down to customer. Be fair, not greedy. But most people/restaurants in st James and in most of winnipeg dont know what real food is or how to cook a real meal. Travel then come back to Winnipeg and go to restaurants here and youll realize this place is filled with c.r.*p. They keep cooking meals wrong. I asked for over medium and I got all runny eggs. The guacamole is brown. The tortillas are soggy. They dont know how to take an order or cook. Way over expensive and the employees cant handle criticism or know how to learn from mistakes. Manager blamed it on me and wouldnt even take care of it and still wanted me to pay. Ruined my breakfast and he wants me to pay for my gfs She doesnt wanna eat breakfast with a frown on my face. Theres better local food thats better priced. French way and bluestone cottage to name two. We went elsewhere and left no money. Will not return. Will give our money to locals who care about what they do because they love working for themselves. Peace
