Salisbury House (Portage & Parkdale)

Second visit, The person that seated us was great, and was joking around had us laughing,great start for a nice dinner out... He got us our coffee which was great,then the waitress came over,pretty blunt and matter of fact, my food wasn't good, (the seniors Salisbury steak) and the donut they served was a dry spice cake, with a thin chocolate coating...perhaps the third time is the charm! I see others have had replies from Sal's, but nothing for dissatisfied customers Huh!

Truck stop/coffee shop type atmosphere anywhere else in canada but winnipeg, but an institution there otherwise. Food is ok. service was ok, the support staff seemed to be better than the server. walked past and noticed dish was done and asked politely if she "could take that away?" while our server just looked at me like I had to finish it because there was a slice of toast left on it.

Would not recommend service was bad sat there for 10 minutes with menus they wouldnt serve us.FINALLY they served us and it took 5 minutes to get our food, that was probably the best part. The chicken burger I got was the worst thing chicken burger Ive ever had, chicken was not very good buns or tomatoes best part was the pickles. Not a very good experience.
