A road side sign proclaiming IN-SUITE WASHER AND DRYER is what lured me into the Boulton Retirement Residence. The vision of machines unoccupied and free of the shreds of somebody else's kleenex was appealing. What I found when I entered The Boulton is what kept me looking. That washer and dryer were in their own room, a room large enough to also provide storage space. In the next room there was a good sized fridge and, besides a microwave, there was a fully functioning stove. Meals were included so I didn't think I would cook much but, if I wanted to make a pineapple upside down cake for Easter I could. And subsequently I did. Despite the reduced square footage from that of my condo, I found I would have plenty of space for furniture, plus ample area for storing all four seasons of clothing. The walk-in closet in the large bedroom was a welcome bonus. I was convinced this was THE place and signed a lease. Once I moved in and was assured my physical needs were well handled , I wondered what else I could anticipate. First, though, I was going to have to deal with a big dental project. And with this I really lucked in! I was able to utilize the Boulton bus service to go to and from every appointment. This saved me a small fortune in cab fares. There were, and still are, although altered to fit the pandemic reality, daily scheduled activities. Unfortunately, I had already existing obligations and friendship ties which meant that I would not be participating in these. But, despite my on-going absence at these scheduled events, I became enfolded in the community. Perhaps because of the comfortable size of the Boulton, or because of the ever-welcoming group around the coffee table, or because of the custom of hall walking during inclement weather a sense of community has developed. As one of the long time residents explains, There is a comradery which pervades life at the Boulton.

My Dad moved in, 6 years ago and the Boulton has been a wonderful fit. Staff and residents are delightful. Staff are organized, and professional, especially during these COVID times. If looking for meals with accommodations and a piece of mind for your senior family members, I recommend this place.

I cannot imagine myself living anywhere else for my Retirement years. I like the fact that each of the four floors has its own special feature. One floor houses the hair salon, one the recreational equipment and another the theatre. My personal favourite is the well-stocked library. Of the activities offered, I look forward to the craft sessions where our creative abilities can shine. Whether my day is busy or not, I know I will enjoy the modern and well-kept rooms and kitchenette. The ensuite washer/dryer is a definite plus. Why do I recommend the Boulton? It has it all!

My mother moved into The Boulton 9 years ago. She is so happy with her decision, and so am I. The public area is always so clean and looked after. A maid comes weekly to my mother's suite and does a fantastic job. Staff here are always very friendly and helpful. They always make time to talk with me if I have any questions. Mom loves the daily activities and outings planned by the Recreation Director. She is also pleased that there is a bus 2 days a week to take her to her appointments. Over all, The Boulton is the perfect place for retired seniors to live at!

People I spoke with were very standoffish, snobby , and rude. If this is how you greet people on a regular, how do you treat your tenants?
