Not a place to go unless you want to be bullied by staff. Staff pretended to be nice on orientation but turned quickly and would threaten CFS if you tried to leave. Very controlling and scary experience I barely made it out of with my baby. multiple girls attempted to leave and EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. Was threatened with CFS if they tried. Including one girl that was moving out of province with one girl. Literally had to get lawyers involved to stop your overreach of power. Very scary experience being held hostage under the threats of CFS. I was told if I tried to leave a Canada wide birth alert would be put out against me. Yet orientation said "you're free to leave at any point." You also bullied me when I started recording these meetings and stood in front of me yelling to delete the recordings telling me if I didn't delete the recording I made you would call CFS to put me on a birth alert. So I deleted the recordings in front of you to appease you and protect myself from your CFS threats. Even after I had my baby you tried to call CFS saying I threw my baby... I would never and never did... Only thing that saved me was that an entire room of girls stood up for me and said they were all there and you were lying. Like 15 girls witnessed and told CFS you're all liars and bullies and you do this to all the girls. Disgusting. Any review that is good is either fake or staff bullied the girl into making it. Or they overturned the entire staff (hopefully) in my days staff were RUTHLESS and kept control over the girls with fear tactics.

I lived at Villa Rosa 47 years ago. It was a great place for young women to have the opportunity to learn about making good choices and to make a plan for their future and their childs future. It also opens your eyes that all people make mistakes and the only difference was that ours showed, which gave many of the girls incentive to be more positive about themselves and their choices. You also learned that a lot of the girls had it worse than you did. The nuns kept a tight ship but it was the structure we needed. Bless the people who worked their for giving all unwed mothers some love that was needed.

I actually worked at Villa Rosa years ago. The experience affected me in an unbelievable way and still does. Sister Adrienne loved those girls like no other. I even spoke with one of the girls who stayed there recently and she is doing amazing. There is no better place for a unwed mother to spend her pregnancy. Everyone who is fortunate enough to be touched by the staff will do better in life afterwards. God blesses this home continuously.
