Before I made a decision about the company that I would choose to remove three trees and grind five stumps, I requested quotes from three companies. All were in the same ballpark but Paul came in a little bit cheaper than the rest. One of the quotes did not have a bucket truck so I ruled him out pretty quickly. Paul and his team had all the fancy toys to do everything they needed to do on my yard. I had a very large spruce tree removed in my backyard and was very concerned about my fence being damaged in the process and for that reason, I thought a bucket truck was a requirement. Also, I had considered renting a stump grinder and doing that work myself but after looking on the Internet, I found that there were many comments indicating that people who grind stumps for a living will often have better equipment, less set up time and they will deal with any machine maintenance issues. Paul provided his quote through a fancy web tool. It was just different so I appreciate his efforts to be more techy. He also accepted a transfer for payment. Paul was delayed because he was rescuing a cat from a tree but I really appreciated that he contacted me to let me know he would be a little bit late arriving. I also have a low maintenance yard with a with stones that needed to be moved away from the tree trunks in order to grind the stumps. His crew moved those stones nicely for me since I wasnt able to get them all moved away myself prior to their arrival. Also while at my house, Paul offered to trim my elm tree so that it would keep more of the leaves out of my eaves, troughs. So he did that work, and didnt even charge me for it as it was not part of the quote. One of the things that I liked about Paul is that hes very personable. While talking in the back yard I was doing a little complaining about my PVC fence and he had some suggestions as well for me dealing with that. Nothing to do with trees, but just sharing that knowledge with me was also valuable. Overall, all of the work was done to my satisfaction and I would highly recommend.
