I have been involved with the MFA for years. Specifically since 1997. I started as a player in peewee and then bantam, High school, all sorts of training camps, provincial teams in under 15, under 17 and under 19, also played on the junior team when it came to moncton and finally the Riverview Mustang's. I have also coach off and on in the last 5 years but most recently I am coaching tykes with my 5 year old son. All in saying that MFA has been pretty well part of my whole life and now I'm passing it down to my son as this sport definitely had a huge impact on my life for the best and thought me a lot more than just a sport.

Don't sign up your child if you have ANY question as to whether or not they will be able to play. I was refused a refund because a doctor wouldn't clear my child after he broke his collarbone several months prior to the season beginning. I signed him up knowing that his final appointment was a day after his first practice and they had a 7 day return policy after the beginning of the season. Apparently the beginning of the season is not the first practice but rather some arbitrary date that happened to be 2 days before I even signed him up. After dealing with Andrew Mahwhinney for over 20(!) days (1 week wait for a response to the initial request and 10 days for a "final decision") my refund was denied. The only compensation offered was a winter conditioning program which is rather useless given my child will be too old to play next season. I hope the GMFA puts my $350 donation to good use because they will never see another single cent from me.
