        The building was specifically constructed to house a bank. It served the community ofRiversidesince 1903. The banks placement was of strategic importance: its original location in Riverside by the wharf and next to a large hotel, made it convenient for arriving and departing merchants and mariners. It has the distinction of having served two prestigious institutions, first TheBank of New Brunswickand, after bank amalgamation in 1939, the Bank of Nova Scotia. Its very small but a neat place to visit and capture some of New Brunswick's early history.
