My dad has been in Kennebec since Summer 2022, and we've been very pleased with the care he is receiving each day. Every time we visit we're more impressed with the facility and staff, and my dealings with the administration has been nothing but positive!

I would recommend Kennebec in a heartbeat especially over many of the larger homes. Since the day my dad arrived in January 2020 he was happier there than at home where he lacked the social, mental and physical stimulation they provided on a daily basis. Dad was always well groomed, dressed every day and well fed. He enjoyed the many activities provided on a daily basis such as bingo, chair boxing, bowling, musical guests and outings on the bus. One of his favorites was bingo because he could win treats. Dad always looked forward to going back to the Manor after his outings because he felt safe and loved their and was always greeted with a smile. He would be smiling from ear to ear as he walked through the doors. I was also treated very well and kept well informed of any mishaps. I do not like to name people in case I forget anyone but dad often spoke of Courtney and Jodi two of his PSW and I mostly corresponded with 3 amazing ladies, dad's night nurses Brenda, Linda and Vanessa. They were always informative, compassionate and understanding with both of us. Obviously there are many other staff members that contributed to dad's health and well being during the days as well, otherwise he would not have the shitgrin on his fave when ever returning to the Manor. Everyone there were all so supportive and compassionate to me and dad the evening he passed. Yes 2021 many changes occurred and they were and still are under staffed but they are doing the best they can with what staff and funds they have. If I were to have any complaint it would be 1) that there be a New Brunswick Diabetic chart/policy for blood glucose monitoring to follow and not the Nova Scotia one as the Nova Scotia allows for numbers to be too high versus what the hospital outlines and it should also go by case by case especially in dementia patients. When dad's sugars were too high his personality changed so you knew his sugars weren't right. 2) The websites are too confusing where Kennebec falls under Kingsway. I had a hard time knowing where to go to follow their residents and their activities. I finally navigated but missed out on a lot I could have planned to be there for. All that said he was very happy at Kennebec Manor and I am so glad he called it home.

Nice facility. Staff are great. Never had any issues. Mom cant manage a phone so when I call they take their cordless to her for me. Covid has made it very difficult to see her. Shes in good hands.
