I travel quite a bit. I've been to Barbados, Jamaica, U.S. Virgin Islands, Hawaii, the Bahamas, St. Lucia and I've taken a Caribbean cruise. I've been to every province in Canada but I have never had a better vacation than the two weeks I spent at Skipper's View cottage. The day I arrived just happened to be my 65th birthday. My amazing hosts, Cindy and Bob, invited me to Wing Night at a local restaurant complete with a Birthday Cake and a round of applause from the Bar .. less than an hour after I arrived in town!! Time and space here do not permit me to list all the kind gestures the owners of this property bestowed on me during my stay. I was invited for Dinner (only about a dozen times!!), was a guest at Cindy's Birthday Party and taken out on a great fishing trip. They provided me with excellent advice on what to see in the area and just could not have been better hosts. A couple of times a week, Bob and Cindy invite guests to their home for their version of a typical Newfoundland Kitchen Party. There's music, great stories and, yes, I even got Screeched In with a certificate to prove it!! I took my turn on the Ugly Stick and came close a time or two to actually keeping the beat. The cabin is perfect for a restful, quiet vacation. Comfortably sleeps 4, 5 in a pinch and has every amenity you need. Air conditioning, barbecue, wood stove, shower, fridge, oven, microwave and a VERY well equipped kitchen. I love to bake and I found everything I needed. The Cottage was spotless on my arrival and there was a Roomba standing by if it needed a touch-up. The sunset was breathtaking and late nights walks along the beach were peaceful and serene. The price of this property is VERY reasonable and great value for your money. I'm going back as soon as I can. There is actually one thing you WON'T like about Skipper's View, that's for sure. Yup, you got it. Eventually you have to leave.
