East Coast Trail - White Horse Path

This trail is not for the faint of heart. In exchange for a one-two punch of strenuous elevation change and unpredictible terrain, you're rewarded with stellar coastline, deadwood forests, shady groves of leafy trees, barren highlands, and gorgeous bodies of water. Patch Brook campsite, described on the East Coast Trail's website, is a wonderful place to spend the night. White Horse Path makes a great overnighter -- if you're lucky with the weather, the sunset view is unmatched. The tent platforms are well built, and a pit toilet is available (pack out your trash). Be aware that several tent platforms are exposed to the coastal elements. Leave prepared to hike as far as Pouch Cove, unless you have a vehicle capable of driving the ~5.5 KM rough gravel road to Cape St. Francis.
