Smitty's Family Restaurant - Halifax Lacewood

It's not a fancy place, but you always know you're going to get great food and friendly service from the staff. It's usually busy for weekend brunch, but not bad outside of those times.

Had a great waiter today. Don't know his name because he didn't wear a name tag. Exceptional service, friendly and got everything right! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian sister who always finds things here that she can eat. Dietary restrictions: Sister with Celiac. Staff is very aware of what has gluten and very accommodating.

Smittys is another classic example of what used to be a non-flashy very good and solid affordable breakfast place that is cutting every corner possible to the point where the portions are so small, the quality is so bad, and the prices are comparable or higher than some of the higher end/popular breakfast spots in the city. The breakfast we had today was awful, small, and cold. Service was amazing but for $17+ tax a meal you expect something at least a step above a free hotel buffet. My advice? Avoid and seek out somewhere like Armview, Ardmore, The Mic Mac, or even Pur and Simple. Itll cost the same or less.

Very impressive customer service and food was very good , highly recommend the shredded potatoes with breakfast.
