Extremely unprofessional after sales and warranty service. Backed out of doing repairs that they promised to do in the first year of warranty. Very cleverly kept me on hold for the first year and allowed the warranty to lapse before going back on their email promises. I would never recommend Amara to anyone. I am filing a complaint against them with Department of Service Nova Scotia and Internal Services for violation of terms of warranty contract. I will be happy to share my experience with anyone who wants to get a feedback on the builder before buying. Please buzz me. Absolute NO NO.

Extremely let down by the communication and how they say things and go back on them. Initially they said they would pave our lane and that they only paved one of the lanes because it had to be done (Fiona). I asked if they were going to pave any of the other lanes and they said no but they have indeed paved more. To make matters worse, they gave a subpar job with the private lane they left us, it needed work immediately and requires constant upkeep because it washes away with smallest amount of rain. While I understand it was not in our agreement, I asked the realtor about during our final walkthrough and they said " Yes, it is 100% getting paved". He even called someone before because they knew I would ask about it. However, after they realized all the houses were sold on the lane, why on earth would they pave it? I feel as if we had the time we could fight it legally because they were aware of the issue and it was not in any sort of disclosure. It definitely affects our property value negatively but once again we are on our own now. The heat pumps and most major appliances are definitely the cheapest versions available. Our heat pump is from a company I have never even heard of. Washer and dryer are the same thing. All in all quality isn't great. We are currently having a plumbing issue that doesn't allow us to use our hose. Sent an email nearly 2 weeks ago; followed up and apparently they "missed" it. Was told a plumber would contact me but haven't heard a thing. I wouldn't recommend going through Amara for a house, you would be better off with Marchand or Ramar.

Finishes not to my satisfaction, missed options to impress. Only post sale communication was thru email. Sorry but would not buy another home from this builder
