If you're like me, you gravitate to the negative reviews first as the most accurate assessments of a location's merits. In this regard, I've found all of the negative reviews for the Halliburton to be as far removed from reality as Pluto is from the Sun. Addressing a few of them individually: Dated decor. I'm wondering which decor one would otherwise associate with a Georgian-period dwelling? A classically restrained Sheraton-style, or a modern arrangement one normally associates with gaudy nail salons and discotheques? The second quibble is the absence of an elevator. Most people should be able to comprehend that this structure predates the invention of the elevator by over half a century. Secondly, two flights of stairs isn't the physically demanding equivalent of the Hillary Step on Everest, and shouldn't deter anyone from staying here. If anything, the stairs add to the charm of the Inn. Noise: This will only come as a shock to someone under intense medication, but there isn't a large thriving city on earth whose chief attribute is an over abundance of silence; it's kind of like expecting a swim to not make you wet. Despite its location, I found the noise levels low enough not to attract my attention. Regarding interior noises, I didn't hear anything. Tiny TV: Small televisions are only an issue for small minds. I could continue, but am sure that a reasonable person would be able to extrapolate their own conclusions based on my analysis. My impressions: It was reminiscent of a stay in an exemplary inn in Edinburgh; The Inn is charming and classy; The staff were uniformly kind and courteous; The food in the restaurant was delicious; Everything was tidy and spotless; The room was darling; I will definitely be returning; Don't believe negative reviews written by the callow.

A perfectly built quaint boutique hotel situated at the best location in Halifax. Stayed here for two nights, had to cancel one night due to flight getting rescheduled and they elegantly refunded the night despite it being a last moment cancellation. The whole place is charming and the vibe is absolutely amazing. The rooms are cozy and the small library and the restaurant feel like a movie set from the 80's. Free parking is available just behind the hotel and everything is at a walkable distance. The staff is fabulous- very polite and courteous, always helping out with a smile. I will not go to any other place in Halifax when I visit again. Thank you Leila, Molly, Rachel for being the most gracious hosts to us. You will not be disappointed if you book here. Food & drinks: Located near all the best places to eat with a wide variety of choice. It has one of
