I wish they were actually what they marketed themselves as and that I could actually give a positive review.
They repeatedly dismissed my concerns, repeatedly suggested things that went against my culture (and refused to listen to me when I pointed that out), went back on their word multiple times, ghosted anyone I brought in to help me, told me that 'advocacy skills' against discrimination was basically 'tell them how you feel', 'be nice', and 'ask questions' - things which I already did. DSWCC also stood by and didn't even recognize blatant discrimination when multiple other organization jumped in to help.
I had to face a lot of ablest macroaggressions (in which even Autism Speaks was horrified about when out of desperation, I showed them correspondence with DSWCC) and racist microaggressions (pointed out to me by bipoc friends). Everything they did had to now has to redone due to the poor quality - they could not answer any follow up questions I had about their suggestions, couldn't even name the key programs/etc I needed and assessments were so poorly done that multiple out of province/in province/out of country therapists, professionals and laypeople I showed it to recommended that I report them and that I'll have to pay out of pocket to redo. Honestly a couple hours with chatgpt gave me more then years with that clinic did.
In addition their suggestions were completed culturally inappropriate for me. They repeatedly refused to listen when I pointed that out and refused to give me my medical information I needed when I sought someone who could do that. They ghosted said professional for over a month when she reached out on my behalf. They spent more time pretending to be 'anti racist' then actually checking their racism
Would not recommend to marginalized minorities. They unfortunately seem to be more the new versions of white saviors :(. I wish they weren't.
