Very unhappy and shocked at the level of treatment today after switching insurance companies I wanted to know a rough idea how much my remainder would be at the end of my visit as the world is getting more expensive some familys need to follow a strict budget. I didnt want a surprise bill at the end I wanted to know the cost of my service which was a cleaning and after insurance what my remainder of the bill would roughly be. Instead I was accused of fraud by the front desk in a wait room full of people and In front of my daughter. Also confusing because I remember asking at other visits how much do you think this will be at the end and getting a rough idea what to budget for I really dont know why it was such a problem today. Ive been going to this office since roughly 2016/2017 and always was spoke to kindly never have I ever dealt with this level of treatment before from this office or anywhere for that matter however the staff has changed over the years quite a bit and the fact this happened today is extremely disappointing and not ok. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I booked an appointment with this clinic to get a chipped tooth filled and I was also hoping to get a consultation for invisalign in the same appointment to save time, but fixing the chipped tooth was my main concern. Tried to go with Gladstone for this as I see on the website they do invisalign and this is something my regular dentist doesn't deal with. When I spoke with reception to book the appointment I asked if the dentist would have time to both fix my chipped tooth (not a consultation request) and do invisalign consultation, and the receptionist said that the dentist could do both in that appointment... Also, I recall in a phone conversation I had to book this appointment I asked about insurance coverage for the appointment because I was about to go on strike at the time and would not have coverage from my employer during the strike. The receptionist at the clinic said that there is a fee for the consultation, so I re-scheduled the appointment for a later date a couple months away (thinking the strike would be over at that point). Also, during the call with the receptionist she mentioned that they may have to do x-rays during (for some reason that I am unaware of?), so I tell her I just had x-rays done at my regular dentist and asked if I could just get those recent x-rays transferred to Gladstone Clinic, to save the hassle. Receptionist said ok and eventually sent me a release form after some back and forth between my regular clinic and this one... Anyway, I show up to the appointment and figure out my insurance coverage and give that to the receptionist. And then when the hygienist seats me she asks why I've come and I say to get my chipped tooth fixed and also invisalign consultation. Hygienist says it is not possible for the dentist to do this on my first visit and that only a consultation is booked. I explain to the hygienist the conversation I had with their receptionist about it and hygientist says its not possible but the dentist will confirm what she has time for. About 20 minutes later the dentist shows up and I ask her to fix chipped and she says no she can't do that, she consult about it first and then book another appointment... I tell her I'm walking and that she can charge my health insurance for this brief conversation if she wishes and then she says the consultation free. I get up, she says she'll walk me out. When I pass by the receptionist table and approach door to get out the receptionist yells at me to come back (in front of another client she was dealing with) and I said "I'm walking. We're Done." So I guess this consultation wasn't "free" after all really? Very poor communication at this clinic and money grabbing folks. I've never ever walked away from an appointment before but I guess there's a first time for everything? Even though I am moving across the street from this place as I have bought a condo at the Gladstone, I sure won't be going with this clinic. Customer Beware! May 15th, 2023
