Saturday March 11th I decided to head from Sydney to Inverness for the day , upon arriving we decided to go to the Coal Miners Cafe for a bite to eat for dinner . Upon entering a very dated building we met the server we decided to grab a seat at the end of the dining room close to the kitchen . The server I must say was not very nice we did not have a very warm greeting when we arrived . Order time so she took the order and away she went to place it with the kitchen staff which of course was only one cook . The order came out in good time and was hot , the food was great no issues there but we had to ask for ketchup salt etc at one point I felt I may even have to get my own drink . I was quite disappointed with my experience especially coming up from Sydney 1.5 hrs away . The inside of the dining room was quite chilly and I felt I needed a sweater a few times while trying to enjoy the food . The waitress spent more time worried about the young guy at the bar instead of the patrons in the dining room.If you are looking for a eatery that has comfortable seating and great service unfortunately this is not the place . Hopefully by summer things will change and we can try it again but for now it was very disappointing.
