We are very happy with both the system and the service. The staff are professional, knowledgeable, and personable. We have had the system for a year now and they don't hesitate to answer our questions and make sure we are satisfied.

Sooo I rarely write reviews as I'm pretty particular and have to be really impressed by a company to take the time to do so. Acadia Refrigeration was one of three local Valley companies I asked to provide a quote for our heat pump system. I didn't choose them because they were the lowest price (even though they were), but because they were super professional, responsive and focused on providing exactly what I wanted and needed. The site visit and quote experience felt more like a true assessment by a certified professional and not a pitch by a sales guy. And everything was included in a single clear price - whereas I felt like the other companies were nickel and diming me - charging extra for stands and trays and things that should just be part of the system. The installation experience was flawless, thanks to a pre-install site visit to double check everything. I was worried about having holes cut in our ceiling or walls but their electrician was able to route it through existing channels, and everything was set up, connected and programmed in a day with no damage and everything left neat and tidy. The installers were courteous and professional, and simply the kind of guys you don't mind having in your house for a day. They even made sure to schedule our job to take advantage of a manufacturer rebate, and they helped me fill out my Efficiency NS rebate paperwork. I frankly can't think of anything else they could have done to deliver a better customer experience. P.S. Based on my experience, I'm a tiny bit suspicious about the two one-star reviews on here, and it's part of the reason why I took the time to tip the scales a bit back to reality. I recommend Acadia without hesitation.

I bought two heat pumps from Acadia Refrigeration in 2013. They were quick with their initial assessment, and installation. Last year, one of the units inside was making loud noises. Still under warranty, I called on Dec. 14th. I was informed that Acadia Refrigeration does not make appointments to deal with issues like this. Instead, they put my name on a board, and any technician who has extra time at the end of the day will call and see if he can come do it. Not very convenient for people who have jobs. I waited one month, had not heard back. I called again, on Jan. 14th and was told I was still on the board. The next day I received a phone call at 230pm from a technician. I was at work, and unable to answer, I called him back after about 30 minutes. He had gone on to another job. Four more months passed. I called again in May. My name was still on the board. Technicians have been busy doing installs, do not have enough time for service calls. Really?? A technician called me on July 19th, while I was away on summer vacation. I received the message on August 5th when I returned. I called on August 6th. I was taken off the board because I had not returned the call promptly, they didn't think I still needed service. My name was placed back on the board. 2 days later a technician called, and my wife was off work so was able to be home for him to come. He said the fan needed to be replaced. He was to order one, and would be back in 2-3 days to replace it. A couple weeks later I called, and they said the fan was in, they again hadn't had time to come and install it. I'm still on the board. Sometime in mid September, the technician called, and my daughter happened to be home sick, and was able to let him in to finish the job that was started 9 months earlier. Ridiculous. Still can not fathom how a company will not schedule a service call for repair.

It was nearly impossible to get them to come out to my house to do an assessment. They finally did, but even after contacting them for a follow up, I have yet to hear back after 2 weeks. It's a shame because I was ready to spend money for them to set me up with a heat pump, but I guess they didn't want my money. Went with Annapolis Valley Air Management instead, and was extremely satisfied with that decision.
