Visiting the Fort was fantastic, and we enjoyed our evening at the B&B. It was spotless and comfortable. Unfortunately, the experience was lessened by Parker, the owner. We were not aware there were two B&Bs in Louisbourg with similar names. We mistakenly stayed in the wrong one. There was nobody available for check-in. Other guests from Quebec suggested we read a note in the lobby and find our room, so we took the only key available and found the room. The following day, Parker's partner visited our room. She never mentioned we were in the wrong B&B. Instead, she told us we missed the breakfast and needed to check out by 10:00 am (the website says 10:30 am). That was the first customer service person we met. Later in a call with Parker, he told us we were in the wrong B&B in an angry voice. When I asked why nobody was there at check-in, he yelled again about managing the place for 27 years and "would not take a lecture" from a customer. He then made an extra charge of $40 on our Visa and still has not honoured our request for a receipt by email. I recommend staying here but understand Parker manages two B&Bs with the name Louisbourg in them. The breakfast is not on the property (contrary to every B&B I have stayed at in the past), and I suggest you get Parker's cell number (he would not provide it when asked when making the reservation). Also, it would be helpful to arrange a meeting time for check-in, so someone could show you the room and explain how the breakfast works. We are reasonable people enjoying a vacation. Sadly Parker's service was offensive. Whatever happened to treating vacationing customers with kindness?

Very good breakfast (not continental) and the foggy hermit restaurant which is right in front of the house, the meals are delicious, what about the seafood chowder menummm!!! Thank you to our host and Denise the lunch waitress (Original) Woooow tout simplement!!!! Trs belle maison victorienne. Les chambres sont spacieux et confortable.. Trs bon djeuner (pas continental) et le resto foggy hermit qui se trouve juste en face de la maison, les repas sont succulents, que dire de la chaudre aux fruit de mer menummm!!! Merci notre hte et Denise la serveuse du djeuner
