Spartan Ocean Racing & Training

I sailed several different events with Spartan, Heineken Regatta in St.Martin, Fastnet and two Atlantic crossings. I had through out fantastic experiences especially on the long crossings. Chris is a well of knowledge all things sailing, heavy weather, safety at sea, crew handling problem solving all of it absolute out standing. He is also a phenomenal instructor and communicator, I learned a ton every time. I hope to be back on one of the boats.

I did the 2017 Fastnet Race with Chris and his crew. I had just completed my Yachtmaster course and was looking for more experience on high performance race boats. Chris gave me a hugely discounted rate so I could join them which I massively appreciate. Do that race and gaining that experience helped me to go on to work on large modern sailing yachts up 187ft. Definitely helpe me feel comfortable enough to to step onto those role. Thank you Spartan Ocean Racing!

Chris is suspiciously quiet when responding to emails reminding him of the bills that are due, for last minute work. However, seems to respond promptly to these reviews. Seems like there is a trend of non-payments for *badly* needed work.

At least twenty people, including myself, have reason to believe that Chris Stanmore-Major and Spartan Ocean Racing are involved in fraud. I want to warn you about this. We suffered from his actions in 2019 when we agreed to participate in the ARC 2019 race (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers) on his boat. We paid for the race in advance, but when we gathered at the start in Alicante, we found that his boat was on the shore in disrepair. No race for us, of course, did not take place. Chris Stanmore, Major failed to fulfill his obligations and promised to return the money to us. He still hasn't done it. Gathering information about this person, it became known that we are not the only victims. There are other people who paid him money to participate in a race or training and were deceived. At the moment, Chris Stanmore-Major and Spartan Ocean Racing & Training are still running the scam. He distributes advertisements and offers sea tours, knowing that he will not be able to fulfill them. His boat is still in a damaged condition in the city of Alicante. If you too have been harmed by this person's actions, you can report to the police of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia who is handling his case. Police in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia have already been informed of his activities. We cooperate with her.
