(Translated by Google) Really interesting and informative about the WWII war effort. From a distance beautiful statue and up close it expresses so many things. To see and not to forget. (Original) Vraiment intressant et instructif sur l'effort de guerre de la seconde guerre mondiale. De loin belle statue et de prs elle exprime tellement de choses. voir et ne pas oublier.

A touching tribute to the merchant mariners who made a tremendous contribution during the Second World War by sending convoys of ships to Europe with vital supplies such as coal, steel, fuel, and other items vital to the war effort. A total of 177 convoys with an average of 14 ships each sailed from Sydney during the battle of the Atlantic. Many ships, and lives, were lost but many more were saved with thanks to the merchant mariners. For those with wheelchairs, rollators, or those pushing prams/baby buggies, this statue is just along the boardwalk which is flat and level: accessible parking is available at the cruise pavilion. Public restrooms are also available in the cruise pavilion.
