Will NEVER go back. Went for highlights. Came out with orange roots. It disheartens me to leave this review about a nice lady, but upon politely and compassionately contacting my stylist to remedy the situation, I have been ignored. I have been to May for highlights and cut once before. I was satisfied with the colour then, but not the cut. When my normal stylist was away for maternity leave, I decided to return for highlights. The appt started off by her asking me to come an hour early which I could not do. She assured me it was fine. We did the highlights as per before except she only left them to process about half the normal time. Two other clients came in in the meantime waiting for their appointments with May. After she washed my hair, I looked in the mirror and saw that my highlights were yellow not blonde. She asked me hesitantly if I liked them. I told her they were too brassy for my liking and asked her if she would put some toner on (purple for non-blondes reading this.). She said she would, but without telling me actually used a dye to try and tone my hair instead of the proper product. She started one of the other appointments while my hair was processing, not an issue except the 2nd client waiting asked if she was sure she had time for her. My stylist came back to me and admitted that Im her notes she wrote that she left my bleach on for double the length last time and didnt know why, but thought she could do it faster this time - It was clear by having two other clients waiting and asking me to come in early that she had over-booked herself and rushed my hair instead of being upfront and saying she didnt have time. Anyhow as she is washing it out, she told me she put on something to bring up the colour of my roots to soften it (ie, dye not toner.). Shows me and although the highlights are slightly less yellow, my roots are now orange. Basically, she did the opposite of what I asked her to do. All hair dressers know what toner is, this was not a miscommunication, She told me if I wanted to fix it she would do that the following week. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt, see it in other light and not embarrass her in front of her other clients, so I told her I would l live with it for a couple of days and let her know either way. I paid her. After a couple days I reached out and let her know that I tried to live with the colour but couldnt bring myself to be happy about it l, that for a couple reasons I did not want her to try to fix it again and asked for a refund. I was kind about it because she seems to be a nice lady, but quite upsetting my I have been ignored. She did the opposite of what I asked. My hair is orange. It looks cheap and trashy and its going to be a mess to grow out. I do not trust her to fix it after she was negligent the first round, then completely ignored what I asked for when it came time to fix it at the time. Then ignored my very civil and kind request for refund. Very unprofessional. Everyone I know has recommended I ask for my money back.

Be careful when booking with Simran @simstylesgta on instagram. When i arrived for my appointment with Simran, she said she would be 5 minutes late due to traffic (she came 15 minutes late, right before I was about to leave). She washed and cut my hair, then blowdried it with the ends pointed up. Did not offer to straighten or curl my hair, as soon as she finished the blowdry escorted me to the front to pay (seemed pretty rushed to me at the time but i didn't think twice). I gave a generous tip. A few days later I washed and dried my hair straight and I went to take photos of the length at the back, and noticed that it was slanted, uneven, and choppy. I asked for a blunt cut, and some pieces were not cut, some were too short, there were various gaps. I sent her photos and she told me that "It slipped her mind" to finish the haircut, that "next time she will double check" and that "she made a mistake" and forgot to cut more when my hair was dry. She told me to come back so she can fix it, but I paid good money and tip for a supposedly high quality service (also I travelled to Ajax and don't have time to just go back) provided by a "professional" and i reasonably expected the job to be performed correctly. It was very obvious that my hair was cut poorly. Price does not match the quality. I asked for a refund and she refused to provide a full refund because she used some products and her time, when I also used my time and waited for her as she was late, and trusted her with my hair and she made various mistakes that ruined it. Then she offered to give a free wash and cut with NO blowdry, I was shocked, first she let me walk out those doors with uneven hair, and then she offers to let me leave with soaking wet hair? Horrible customer service and Lack of concern for paying customers. She has now blocked me on instagram, which is very unprofessional and rude to block a client. Do NOT recommend that anyone trusts Simran with their hair. So dissatisfied and frustrated with this experience. :( Service: Hairstyling
