Awesome place loaded with walleyes. The owner Johnny is super friendly. Went there in a party of eight including my three boys. Caught a ton of fish, stayed at the cabin on the point and had a terrific time. The train ride from Armstrong Ontario was a real experience stopping in the the woods in the middle of nowhere enroute to the lodge. Water is warm enough in July to swim which was a real kid pleaser. Just came back from my third trip to Allanwater Bridge Lodge (july 2018). Learned more of the lakes of which there are about 30 square miles. Also did really well fishing two minutes away from the cabins. Jigged with 1 oz jigs, six lb test, and Berkely Gulp leaches. Caught fish everywhere the water was 20 to 40 ft deep (classic summertime walleye pattern). This is a world class walleye fishery. My 18 year old son caught a 28 inch 6.4 lb walleye and he knows nothing about fishing. This year we stayed at the main lodge with electricity. Last time we were at the cabin on the point a few hundred yards from the main lodge. Both have their advantages. Every year I've visited I've met others who have been coming for 20+ years because "It's non stop action." Of the thirty square miles I estimate %25 is 0-10 ft deep, 50% is 10-40 ft deep and 25% is 40-65 ft deep. The blueberries and raspberries were in season and ate them every morning on my oatmeal. Place was built in 1917. Feels like a different place in time. Johnny has internet satellite in his office. I remoted in for 15 minutes everyday to do some business that had to be dealt with. I've seen some whiny reveiws on Trip Advisor. If you're looking for a five star lodge this is not the place. But if you're looking for world class fishing from a lodge with a lot of character with good boats and motors this is for you. The train was two hours late going in from Armstrong and 17 hours late coming out. If you have more time than money I suggest bringing a tent to sleep in at Armstrong while you wait for the train (plenty of grass next to the tracks to pitch a tent). If you have a few bucks call Mattice Lake outfitters in Armstrong and charter a plane. Cost is $135 per day per person, includes tax, cabin, boat, motor and gas. Bringing you're own food keeps the cost down. Fly in world class fishing that is affordable.

If you want a true Canadian fishing experience this is the place. A fishery that has outstanding walleye and pike, the rivers/lakes give the opportunity to fish whatever style you like. The cabins were perfect for our group, and the owner Johnny was an outstanding host helping out with whatever you need. The boats and motors worked perfect. I highly recommend this lodge for the person look g for a remote fishing trip. Already booked for the next year! Thanks again Johnny, you have an outstanding operation!
