Aurora Family Eye Care

I had appointment with Dr. Aaron Tai in September 2022. The overall approach towards the treatment was to sell more and change as more as possible. I was offered other test equipment as optional with additional charges as not necessary but better which I didnt agree to. Dr. Tai prescribed numbers were much higher than what I needed. He brought it down every weeks I went back for adjustments until I gave up and visited another clinic to get a correct prescription. In my experience, the clinic and the doctor approach was from commercial stand point rather than a trusted medical centre for patients. Fully regret the expense and time I had to bear.

Great experience. Very clean and friendly facility. Wait time was short. Dr. Tai is very patient and kind. He takes the time to clearly explain things I need to know about the health of my eye.

I had an appointment at Aurora Family Eyecare in late Sep-2022. No complaints about the actual eyesight test or professional advice on my issue. However, what really struck me was the fact that Dr. Wong put a note "does not wear a mask" on my file. It put a smile on my face when I saw her typing it. What was not so funny is when she passed the paperwork to her receptionist. The lady basically refused to book my follow up appointment siting that exact reason. Her exact words were "since you refuse to wear a mask, we can only put you on the very end of our waiting list and if something becomes available, we will let you know". I will leave it to people who read this review decide what to call this. Discrimination, cognitive dissonance, disillusion? This is a "doctor's" office. There are no more mask mandates at this point of time, nobody is forcing them to keep doing this, so it's their own decision. I guess many people might disagree with me here, but it's worth letting everyone know. Then people can make an educated choice for themselves.
