Cedar Point Resort was a great getaway with relaxing views, good fishing and friendly owners. Lets start with the drive in to camp. It always comes with the question how good is the drive in going to be and do I want to take my boat? We had emailed before our stay to ask how the 5 mile drive was especially if we were going to bring our boat. The owner emailed back said that the road is in good shape and they drive a car on it. We figured we would risk it and bring the boat. I have been told this story before and the roads are nightmares and it takes hours and hours to only go a few miles, that being said Ray takes well placed pride in the gravel road and always having maintenance done on it. The 5 miles took us 20 mins with a 26 boat trailer, I was very surprised by the road and the good condition it was in. It really made the ride a breeze and I was very happy with it. Check in was easy and we got to our cabin (#9). It had a great view right on the water we got set up and unpacked. Cabin had a shower, a toilet, and power. The boat launch was very easy to use to drop the boat in and get set up. Ray has power down to the docks for charging boats at night. The Lake is very big and connected to other lakes so the options are unlimited. We fished for small mouth bass, northern pike, and walleye. Over all the fishing was good and found some good honey holes. We came over the July 4th weekend and it was just starting to hit the warm weather and the lake was getting warm. We fished shore lines, bays, narrows, big areas and a small island. We found a nice spot that was pre set up for shore lunch and had a nice meal on an island. The cooking area was already set up and ready to go. One of our favorite things to do when we where not fishing was enjoy the view from the cabin overlooking the water. We also got to enjoy flyovers from boat in lakes in the area. Ray and Kathi do a meal one night for the whole camp. It was a nice get together to meet people and eat great homemade food prepared by Ray & Kathi.
