The Chestnut Tree Preschool

My 3.5 year old has been at this center (king st location) since the infant room and although it had its ups and downs at the beginning I can confidently say that we absolutely love it here. The teachers at this center treat us with the utmost respect and care for my son as if he was their own. He adores every single one of them, talks about them constantly at home and honestly never wants to leave. I know hes going to be very sad leaving them this September. My other little guy will be starting at chestnut in September and Im confident he will receive the same level of care.

My brother has an Egg, Dairy and Mustard seed allergy with his epi-pen everywhere with him, since joining the staff have been nothing but helpful and lets him join in with his friends at lunch without sitting alone- he loves his teachers and is always so talkative from learning words from his friends, he is always excited to go to school!

Was great in the beginning with Nicole as supervisor. Went downhill quickly after her departure. They have staffing problems and were moving my child from room to room (in the middle of a pandemic) without even telling me with zero effort on their end to resolve this problem. My son was supposed to be full time preschool however they did not have a full time spot and used him as a pawn to move him around to fix their scheduling problems. Very disappointed in my sons care and I ended up quitting my job to pull him out. Edit to add: I voiced my concerns while still paying for care and nothing was done. Children require consistency, routine and stability in order to nurture their development and feel safe and secure. My son did not receive this and it showed in his behaviour at home- only on the days of room switches. Every week for months, often multiple days of that week he was in a different room. When he showed up he didnt know who his teacher would be or which room he was in. He was also exposed to a positive covid case during one of these room switches. Nothing was attempted to be resolved before I left and they even tried to charge me for additional time when I pulled him out. There was zero understanding or empathy from the upper management- until I left a bad review. Says a lot.

The first time we walked into Chestnut Tree Preschool we were told by other parents that we would love it there, and we did. Our little one spent 6 months in the infant room and loved going in every day. Miss Amy and Miss Nicole were absolutely wonderful. They both did such a great job helping our little one learn and play that we could leave her without worry. All of the staff are great and they welcomed our child with open arms. The meals provided were nutritious and unique. We were always confident that our little one was learning to eat a wide variety of food that is freshly prepared on site. Chestnut Tree Preschool and their wonderful staff will always hold a special place in our heart. We are very sad to be leaving and our reason for doing so is in no way related to the exceptional care our child received. We wish them all the best and a successful future
