As we both love animals, we were just hoping for 'nice' and we got 'wonderful'.
The place is not big, but very well setup and clean. The animals and fish represent those found in Ontario and also down the St-Lawrence gulf.
We arrived a bit late for the otter play time, but there was one big male left. He was having a relaxing time swimming, then giving himself a nice grooming and scratch on the logs of the display before going to lie down inside a tree trunk to sprawl and snooze.
Around a corner was Justin the Beaver; he turned out to be hilarious. As we approached and could see nothing, my wife saw him close to the windowed wall and let out a laugh.
There he was sprawled on his back under a warming light, tummy up, paws just flopping by his head, and dreaming of chewing something. It was adorable.
One of the staff was there and took the time to laugh with us and answer more scientific questions about this gorgeous animal. After a few minutes, Justin deigned to roll over and move a bit to his personal pond where he chewed a few logs and branches.
Then he sat there looking at us, allowing us to take a few photos.
Overall a very pleasant visit even for adults; let's be honest few of us ever get close enough to a beaver or otter to see them having fun.
