All is not as it was. I used to go to Steve's to get their onion rings almost everyday when I lived near by. I had not been there in a few years. I was surprised to see tons of new advertising on the front windows and a new paint job on the inside....it looked nice. The staff was adequately nice, and the food was prepared fairly quickly but compared to what the cost was, it has increased greatly, and the size of the portions was awful. The box I was getting my onion rings in seemed big enough for the cost but when I got it it was only about a quarter full (see pic below). Also, what made Steve's so special when I lived near by was not only the cost being so low, and the portion sizes being so big, but he prepared his orders in the "old school" way...the fry box filled with onion rings had the option of salt and vinegar half way through, and they were wrapped in newspaper. Just like they used to at the old fish and chips places. It was that special, different from the rest touches that made us love Steve's. I was disappointed with the price increase, then I saw the styrofoam container which disappointed me, but I figured it was big at least if it was going to cost so much, then he filled it quickly, so I didn't see how much was in there until I looked after walking out the door. Oh ya, and no more option of salt and vinegar. It was terrible. I will never go there again.
