Heart of Home Maintenance

I have just gone through the same thing as some dude with this company, I am now out $3,000 and as of yesterday he wanted another $1,000, I know I will not see any of my deposit back and I now know that I should not have trusted this company. I am a widow on a fixed income I put my trust in a person that was not to be trusted, a hard lesson learned.

We engaged them to replace our exterior doors. They seemed professional up until we paid a deposit to purchase the doors, after that we had to push hard to get project updates but received nothing but excuses. After final getting a start date for the work to begin, they postponed and gave more excuses. This happened a couple more time. Finally, they didn't even show up for the last appointment, nor provide any excuse why they didn't show. At this point, we believe they might be fraudsters and we are struggling to get something for the money we gave them to purchase the doors (>$2,000). They don't reply to any of our communication. First off, I will say that we have worked with many renovators and handymen over the years, so I can certainly speak well on this subject. Adam came to help with a renovation on a rental unit that was terribly delayed by another 'contractor team' putting us at risk of not being done in time for the new tenants. Not only did Adam do great work, but he also was able to reach out to other trades to come and help get things done on time. He even showed up late at night a couple times when a problem became apparent with work that the previous people had done (ie a leak). Not only was he a great help, but he is also very kind and someone I would certainly trust in my home.
