I am very disappointed to say I have had poor service from the Chatham Nissan dealership. I have taken my vehicle to them for service since I purchased my Pathfinder in 2018, which was the demo from the owner of the Nissan dealership in Kitchener & Guelph. Ive gone to the Chatham Nissan dealership for 5 years now to have my vehicle serviced. I reside in Windsor and work in Chatham, so I am on the 401 regularly. However, for over the past year, I have been bringing my vehicle to them raising a number of issues that they have dismissed. On Feb. 16, 2022 I brought my vehicle in with difficulties starting it. I had replaced the battery and yet there were still problems. They said could not verify concern. On Sept 21, 2022 I brought my vehicle in again with concerns of a clicking sound, to which I was told it was common for a 2018 pathfinder as they compared it to another 2018 pathfinder on their lot, which reportedly made a similar sound. The plan was no further action. I stated that it didnt make that sound when I purchased it, so it must indicate something but they said it was fine and sent me on my way. Now again in May 2023, the noise continues progressively getting louder, I book yet another service appointment. Instead, my partner insists I bring it to his mechanic in Belle River. The mechanic identifies the noise as a major concern; its the timing chain. He shows me a blueprint of the vehicle schematics pointing out the timing chain and explains how it functions and that it is slipping- this the noise- and it impacts things like slow acceleration, the vehicle having difficulty starting, etc. Wonderful! Thank you, Mike Pitre (MRP Automotive) for identifying the issue, and clearly explaining how it all works. Mike recommended bringing it back to the Nissan dealer because they have the history of the vehicle. When I brought it to Chatham Nissan sharing what I was informed was the issue they said they would take a look and give me a written estimate. I dropped it off on the morning of Thursday May 18, and picked it up end of day Friday May 19, 2023. I was given no paperwork and told they would email me the estimate Tuesday. Its now Wednesday (May 24th) afternoon, still no paperwork, and no written estimate. They verified at the time of pickup that they believed it was the timing chain and that typically those cost about $2,800 when they replaced one recently for a different vehicle. I was also told they would need the vehicle for at least 2 -3 days to do the replacement and they did not have a loaner for me. Had they identified the cause of the multiple issues I brought to their attention over the past year, it would still be covered under warranty! Their negligence has put me at risk driving back and forth on the 401, as well as driving around my 3 children. In addition, I now have been driving with this issue for over a year, which can cause other problems with the vehicle. I am really disappointed after 5 years of loyal customer support, and concerned that I put my trust in their ability to ensure my vehicle is functioning safely when they send me out of their customer service door. I would appreciate if they would provide some solutions.

My wife and I recently purchased a Pathfinder, and we couldn't be more pleased with the quality of the vehicle. Frank did an awesome job locating options for us, while Amy was great to work with on the financial end. Kathy was a delight to deal with as well. We feel the entire store went above and beyond and really treated us like we were family. Thanks Chatham Nissan.
