The gentleman that answered the phone seemed very knowledgeable. I explained that I'd never had my taxes done professionally before and not sure what he needed or what the cost would be. He said it starts at $60 and goes up from there. He told me to bring in my T4, my husbands (who is at work) and that he could fit me in right away. I would just need to get my husband to sign off. No issues. After speaking with my husband and realizing he hadn't filed for last year, I phoned back and apologized that I didn't have everything needed and wouldn't be able to come in right away. He said he could get all the information online and that I could still come. I asked what sort of cost we were looking at since this complicated things (instead of filing one, he's filing three and having to pull documents from the CRA) and he dodged the question. Then he asked why I was hesitating. When I said I'd just like to know the cost for a more complicated return, he told me he was very busy, the phones are ringing and the doorbell is going and maybe I should go somewhere else. That he'd been very patient with me and repeated that it started at $60 and went up from there. He didn't want to provide an estimate for both returns and I still don't know. I'll file elsewhere. Not an appropriate way to treat people even when you are stressed or busy. He seemed really nice at first.

Allan has always been very friendly and helpful. (And he has saved me a great amount of money). It was a lucky day when I found him. Allan has now been preparing my returns every year since 2017 -- if I could rate him with six stars, I would do so.

March 20, 2023 I contacted Allan when CRA reassessed a prior year tax return. Allan reviewed the matter in a timely manner and corrected the information on file, which then resulted in an additional credit being issued to me by CRA. Allan is extremely knowledgeable and provided excellent personal and professional attention to my needs and I would thoroughly recommend him to anyone needing assistance with their income tax.
