The 3 stars are ONLY because of two employees in the cardiac care centre. Jennifer and Andy were exceptional during my testing which was done between 9am-11am on Feb 15 2022. Jennifer has compassion for the people she encounters and a wonderful bedside manner. Andy was very professional and made friendly conversation, which was much appreciated in such a nerve racking setting. However, the technician who completed my echocardiogram was NOT pleasant in the slightest. She made the comment, I know that not taking deep breaths is hard for someone like you. I know Im overweight lady, hence the reason I was there for pre-op testing! The snide remarks were not necessary. But the worst part of my experience was when I felt like my air supply had been cut off 1-2 minutes after she injected the dye contrast intravenously and IGNORED my complaints! I told her I didnt feel well, I was lightheaded and felt like I couldnt breathe. My heart was beating out of my chest and I felt like I couldnt get enough oxygen. Her response was, I need you to sit through these pictures and breathe how I need you to, otherwise we need to do this all over again, do you really want that? Im not sure who advised her it was ok to speak to people this way but it was not appreciated in the slightest! Maybe youve seen people have a bad reaction to the dye before but this was MY first time! Youre lack of compassion was appalling! Especially when you told me to walk myself back to the waiting room after the test was completedI JUST told you I thought I was going to faint and you didnt even offer to assist me! Thankfully, I managed to walk myself back to the waiting area and Jennifer listened to my concerns/fears and sat with me while the dye wore off and I am beyond grateful for her compassion. Jennifer was the only reason I got through this experience without sobbing or walking out mid appointment! She truly went above and beyond today. Wish I could say the same about the echo technician. **The technician (echocardiogram) seemed puzzled as to why I was hooked up to iv fluids and asked the nurse who brought me in the room, how she was supposed to inject the dye? The nurse told her to pinch the line to the bag of fluids before injecting the dye contrast, which I want to note she did NOT do! I watched her and she did no such thing. Not sure how much or little this had to do with what happened to me today but such carelessness in that profession could cost someone their life someday. Im am taking this higher up just so you know. This is worthy of more than just a google review.
