pretty disappointed, i purchased liquitex products as they were deciding to do away with them, along with golden. every product ive opened thus far has been expired beyond actual use. purchase a big tub of heavy gel, found it went hard inside the container. but you know, final sale and whatnot, owners had to make a buck on expired products. never getting my money again

Don't kid yourself, or waste your time at Curry's. This place perpetually looks like they are going to close the doors forever. If you want some grades of specialty paper or canvas, they got you covered. Their racks of watercolour paints are almost empty (always) and never a full range of primary colours available. Ditto for pencils (yes!! Pencils!!). I went in today in the off chance they had alcohol based tonal markers (gray's and sepia's) and for one, they had sets of cheapies like you might see at dollarama or walmart. Secondly, their quality names (Winsor & Newton, Copic and Tombow) were so old they were dried out. If you do manual architectural work, their drafting supplies are limited to a couple Tee Squares, some triangular scales and a couple 45 or 30/60 squares. I'm into pen and ink, graphite, pencil and watercolours so I can't offer any insights re their selection of oil paints. It's really quite sad and I won't be back. Try the art store inside King West Books (1060 King St West in Westdale). A smaller art store but they have a good selection of quality artists materials. I overheard the salesperson in Curry's this morning tell a customer to try the one on King West as well. Apparently they didn't have what he wanted, either.

Unfortunately I find this store to be a shadow of what it once was.Where unusual or uncommon supplies were once a happy mainstay, I now find myself struggling to find even a selection of basic watercolors. With high pricing and empty shelves, there is little too offer aside from canvas and a few selections of cardstock. Not even an array of sketchbooks or pencils! The staff are kind and knowledgable, but the space has become dirty,dingy and dated. I hope they can once again find their stride.
