Sean M. Seaton Law

After a year of Sean representing me in a family-law matter, he was unable to make any progress in my case and encouraged me to do things I did not feel was in my best interest. Sean then preceded to ignore my calls (including his receptionist) for over 6 months. Finally he told me he was switching the type of law he practices and explained I would need a new lawyer for my case. Sean the assured me he would email Legal Aid that day to make the process as quick as possible. I called back 8 weeks later because Legal Aid told me they hadn't heard a thing from him. It took several tries, but finally I managed to get a hold of him and he assured me he had the letter typed on his desk infront of him to send off that day. This was a lie, he did not email Legal aid and once again disappeared, not answering my calls or responding to legal aid for almost 5 months. By doing this Sean seriously delayed my ability to start the process of transferring lawyers and furthermore my ability to make any movement on my case. My new lawyer was unable to collect a single document from my file, as once again Sean would not respond to me, nor my new lawyer. I really cannot recommend a lawyer who disappears, lies to their clients and withholds important case files. I hope no one else has to go through an experience as negative as this one.

Sean is incompetent and unprofessional lawyer. I am surprised how lawyer can be like that. He won't show up on Court dates and reply to Phone calls and emails. He's just cares about his fees nothing else. He doesn't answer client questions, his favorite excuse is "I am with client or client is coming in 5 mins". Complaint already been filed against Sean with "Law Society of Ontario", you can check on the website. I don't want anyone to go through all that pain, we went through. Thank me later.
