Bought my husband and his buddies the knife course for his birthday. All I can say is, BEST GIFT EVER. They all had a blast. My husband said Josh was the greatest teacher, and he and his friends are planning to make this a regular thing. Thank you for offering such a cool service! We'll definitely be back.

This was my second time taking a classes here and my sons first time, and it was again an awesome time. Instructor was very knowledgeable, patient, clear, and made sure everyone was comfortable and understood the process before we started making ours knives. Proper safety procedures and PPE was the first thing covered. At the end of the 7 hr course each student walked away with the finished and ready to use knife they made. My son and I are already looking at the next class to take (maybe axes).

Attended a full day workshop with Spencer (bladesmith extraordinaire) and four other gents, learning the basics of knife forging using traditional blacksmith methods. Spencer walked us through each method (lighting, maintaining and using the forge; using various hammers and tongs to move and manipulate the hot steel; using the powered tools like the power hammer, drill press and sanders; and heat treating and protecting the finished knife) and was always right there when anyone had any problems or questions. We all walked out of the class with fully finished knives, each with its own use and personality ;-) I 100% recommend Vans and will be back for their other workshops. PS I arrived later than expected and although I wasnt late, I did make the other chaps wait for me a bit. So I was a bit nervous when Spencer introduced himself and was explaining the waiver I had to sign and so-on so much so that I thought his name was Josh the entire class (sorry Spencer!!). Anyway, point I wanted to make it that you should arrive 10-15 minutes early lol.
