Rooms: The cabin (Hermit Thrush) was beautiful and extremely clean. Nearby activities: We only left the place once to bring our daughter snowboarding at Hidden Valley (5 min drive). All other activities we were able to do right at Cedar Grove. We went snowshoeing, cross country skiing, skating, sledding and hiking. All equipment was available for us at the lodge. Food & drinks: Breakfast and afternoon snack are included in your stay. Breakfast (8am-11am) had a large variety of hot and cold meal choices. Afternoon snack (2:30-2:30pm) felt more like a lunch to all of us. There was lots to choose from and we were full. For dinner we brought some salads and prepared meals from M and Ms and we just microwaved them in the little kitchenette in our cabin. We were planning to go out to dinner one night, but we were all so comfortable that we just stayed in and warmed up the left overs!

My sisters and l had an excellent winter stay in the Whippoorwill cottage for the weekend. It was exactly what we were looking for a winter weekend get away! The cottage was clean, comfy and cozy...loved the real wood burning fireplace and enjoyed the crackling fire. The beds were very comfy as well. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Nature abounds here, loved the fresh snow on the huge trees, lovely winter wonderland walks, the lake views, the surroundings were gorgeous and even got a glimpse of a few deer. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful however our afternoon snack was less then desirable. l think for the price tag the afternoon snack could very much be approved upon. The absent of a dinner menu on the property could also be viewed as a negative for some, it would have been great to have dinner on site but we were prepared to go out to eat or pick up a pizza for dinner. Next time around we will bring more suitable snacks! All in All we had a fantastic time here and look forward to returning again some time soon, l hope!
