Capital City Specialty & Emergency Animal Hospital

Our 14-year-old Springer Spaniel collapsed on New Years Eve 2023. We knew she had a splenic tumour and as a health care professional I knew she was bleeding internally and transitioning. Our Vet in Perth had Eagleson Vet Hospital on their answering machine. A call to them and they triaged me to Capital Animal Hospital. I walked into Capital and said my dog was transitioning and within a minute they were out to my car and my dog was in the back. They ushered us into a private room. A quick ultrasound to determine my assumption was right and our Springer crossed over the rainbow within minutes. From the time we left our house to our return was an hour. Being an owner of 4 previous rescues this was the best transition I had experienced so date. This is fantastic clinic being quick, efficient and affordable on a day of the holidays. I was so heavy in my heart I can’t remember anyone’s name. From the receptionist to the vet team they were kind, empathetic, compassionate and knowledgeable. It was a harrowing Thursday morning when our pug woke up in excruciating pain, but the tender and expert care we received from Dr. Jackie Pelot in the urgent care department turned what could have been the worst day of our life into a sigh of relief. We couldn't have been more impressed with Dr. Pelot's depth of knowledge and compassion. It is such a relief to have a practice of Capital City's caliber in our region. Thank you to the entire staff and Dr. Pelot for taking such outstanding care of us and our dear boy.

Great experience from reception staff to vet care. A lovely receptionist fit my puppy in last minute and Dr Pelot was attentive, kind and knowledgeable. The hospital is modern and spacious. Highly recommended!
