Very unfortunate experience with Smolkin Men's in Kemptville. We rented a suit for a wedding my husband was a groomsmen in. When he received his suit, he noticed that the suspenders looked like they had been chewed on by an animal. They were also missing a clasp on one side to adjust, rendering them useless. The photographer had to pin the back of his shirt for the wedding, and even said this was the worst suit he had ever seen. Throughout the night, the pins scratched my husband's back and caused him to bleed through his shirt. We contacted Smolkin's through email and did not get a reply. We also called on the phone, which they said "this was a rental and not their fault." Yes, they may have rented it from a third party, but we rented it through them and they received the business. We asked for a refund or partial refund as we spent $250 on the rental. Their response was "well, it was $250 only when you include tax" and that they would look into it. They did not seem apologetic at all. We never received a response by telephone or email. I have never written a negative review, however, this experience absolutely warrants one. Terrible customer service and product. We do not recommend to anyone.
