We have been renting from Bumblebee Property Management since more than a year now and it has been a great experience for us. Jolene is professional, direct and clear. She is very responsive. She's put effort in making us comfortable in the property and never turned down our requests. We are happy with her services and would recommend her to prospective tenants.

I'm not one to bother writing a review, but I would highly encourage anyone thinking renting from Jolene and this company to reconsider. I rented from her in the past, and she gives the many good landlords I have dealt with in Kingston a bad name. If you choose to ignore my warning and rent from her, please know your rights as a tenant under the Ontario Residential Tenancy Act. For example, she likes to frequently collect "key deposits" of $100 from new tenants, which is illegal considering that under the Act landlords are only allowed to collect the amount that it would cost to replace a set of keys (the keys she provides are nothing special and only cost several dollars to replace). When attempting to return the key for my $100 before moving out, she refused to return my deposit until myself and my roommates paid $600+ for "cleaning" and other services (which means it is not really a key deposit she is collecting...). She also threw a tantrum when she found out that I knew my rights under the Residential Tenancy Act and would not pay several hundred dollars out-of-pocket to replace a shower knob in our unit (which had fallen off due to wear and tear). In addition, she also had a history of making ignorant/racist comments towards my roommates who were visiting Kingston to study from abroad. Long story short, save yourself the headache and rent from someone else if possible.

Disgusting customer service. The website states short term rental leases are available. Called in and was told "no one could possibly want to keep a vacant space and rent to you for 4 months". If your listings don't match your website description, and you don't have short term leases, your employees could have at least been trained on a better attitude. I'm a student myself and would recommend all other students to stay away from this management firm.
